When Dorks Have Conversations About Books
H: Oh my god! You hate Brett?!
M: OH MY GOSH YES.
J: Wait, what are you talking about.
M: The Sun Also Rises.
J: I LOVE LADY BRETT ASHLEY. I WANT TO NAME MY DAUGHTER THAT.
M and H: NO. HOW CAN YOU FEEL THAT?!
J: Yes, she's a bitch. But women are like that.
H and M: WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?
Yes. We are arguing Hemingway. After dinner. Like dorks.
i spend too much time reading about your life instead of living in it.

I never read Hatchet
Me neither. BOOM.
I did read it but I wish I hadn’t. Hatchet/River, Things Fall Apart and Zorba the (fucking) GreeK are pretty much the top of my list of “books I had inflicted on me during my education that I do/did not appreciate.” Too borderline mysogenistic/dude-oriented.

On Short Hair (c1988) →
Hair is time. Women with short hair always look as if they have somewhere else to go. Women with long hair tend to look as if they belong where they are, especially in California. Short hair takes a short time. Long hair takes a long time. Long hair moves faster than short hair. Long hair tells men that you are all woman, or a real woman, or at the very least a girl. Short hair always makes them...

Ugh, Every Once and a While I Miss Durham
Things I could do if I was in Durham:
1) Go to Sushi Love for two for one sushi and a martini.
2) Get crappy but incredibly delicious Indian food at Sitar in the Great Hall
3) Go to He’s Not with the FAC Board on a Sunday (retroactively to this past Sunday)

Weekend Thoughts
— You know that it was a good weekend when you were out, completely sober, dancing until 3 AM at Mimi’s and at least four different people told you that you were awesome and they adore you.
— Also it’s a good outfit that can go from school to kickball on the fly to chilling at someone’s house to party to Frenchmen’s to Mimi’s. In case you are wondering...

Things, things, things…
Caryn was here this weekend! It was awesome because she was the first Duke person that I got to give an extended view of my “real life” and it was really fun to see two of my worlds colliding. Should Gainesville, Duke and NOLA people ever all combine in one place, I think I would explode with happiness tingles.
Three day weekends are awesome.

I will never need to write up my thoughts on gchat because this woman has captured all of them. I add one thing:
41. GChat keeps me sane during the school because I feel like I am not cooped up exclusively with adolescents.
